I am a mum of two children and have been practising as
a Health Visitor (Specialist Public Health Nurse) for over 24 years. Over the
past two decades of supporting families with babies and young children, I have
built a wealth of specialist knowledge, skills and experience, and have
undergone additional training in areas such as children’s mental health, infant
feeding practices (both breastfeeding and formula feeding techniques) and common
feeding problems (including colic, re-flux, milk / food intolerance and
allergies) and I have a good understanding of how such issues can impact
upon a baby’s sleep pattern. I am not simply interested in the sleep patterns of
your baby, but also in gaining an holistic view of baby’s well being; namely their
routines and care needs around the clock. In addition, I have specialist
qualifications and skills around understanding mother and infant relationships
and attachments, and how the emotional states of both mum and baby can
influence a baby’s ability to achieve restful sleep. I can bring my skills and
experience to you and enable you (and a significant other if required) to find
a baby sleeping solution to suit you and your family; it will be tailor made to
fit your capabilities and your unique situation. My aim would be to work in
partnership with you to help you find the right solutions; this might even
involve challenging
expectations that your baby should “sleep through the night” and it will not
necessarily mean leaving your baby to cry (if you’re not ready to do so).
Your baby, your sleep solution.
